SINGING THERAPYAnthroposophic Therapeutic Singing, a specifically therapeutic branch of the School for Uncovering the Voice, was first developed by Valborg Werbeck-Svãrdström in collaboration with Rudolf Steiner over 12 years from 1912-1924. It was further developed by Mrs. Werbeck and shared with Jürgen Schriefer, who worked with several close students, including Thomas Adam, carrying her work forward. Training courses in Anthroposophic Therapeutic Singing by Thomas Adam began in the late 1990’s, on three continents, with the support and approval of the Medical Section at the Goetheanum in Dornach, Switzerland and certification by the Medical Section in United States. |
This therapeutic modality employs: the Zodiacal and Planetary influences connected with specific consonants and vowels, the sung tone, melodies, rhythms, intervals, and movements, to help remove obstacles and bring about the balance and healthy integration of the four members of the human being. Each therapy is individually crafted from the above-mentioned elements to meet the needs of the client. The human singing voice, with balanced breathing and lifted tone, proves itself to be a healing modality, and the client is actively able to use his/her singing voice to help heal him/herself. Therapeutic singing offers a wide range of exercises for a multitude of conditions with healing/balancing possibilities by working from the ego/astral, and/or the etheric/physical to bring a healthy relationship between body, soul, and spirit.
